Kyrgyz industrialists need to participate in SPIEF-2025 in person
On June 18, 2025, the XXVIII International Economic Forum – SPIEF-2025, one of the largest and most significant business events in the world, opens in St. Petersburg.
— SPIEF is a space for dialogue and development of business ties that has no analogues, — the organizers report. — This is an opportunity to find partners for business development in Russia and abroad, expand the circle of customers and suppliers, contact decision-makers, attract the attention of potential investors and leading media.
More than 21,800 participants from 139 countries took part in the work of the forum in 2024 in real and virtual formats. More than 1,073 agreements were signed at the Forum for a total of 6 trillion 492 billion rubles. Expectations for the upcoming XXVIII SPIEF are no less rosy and inspiring. A significant portion of the topics will touch on the development of the Eurasian Economic Union.
One of the issues that will be raised on the sidelines is the emergence of new projects in the EAEU, advanced high-tech enterprises, the so-called lighthouse factories.
“They set new standards of efficiency, flexibility and sustainability due to maximum automation of processes based on artificial intelligence and robotics, transparency of production chains and rapid implementation of innovations,” the SPIEF-2025 organizing committee explains. “The emergence of such exemplary “factories of the future” is extremely important not only for Russia, but also for all EAEU countries. The development of high-tech industry, the exchange of best practices between enterprises of the Union states and the replication of effective inter-industry solutions will contribute to strengthening technological sovereignty, economic growth and integration within the EAEU.
Professionals of the industrial sector of Kyrgyzstan note the openness of the domestic economy, and, as a challenge, a considerable degree of inequality of the domestic level in comparison with the level of partner countries.
— The level of Russian industry and Kyrgyz industry differs by an order of magnitude, — industrial expert Emilbek Kudanaliev says in a commentary to Delovaya Eurasia. — In order for the Kyrgyz side to be able to cooperate equally, it is first necessary to raise the industry of Kyrgyzstan so that it can provide supplies of components or, conversely, purchase components from Russia. In my opinion, in a couple of years, Kyrgyzstan can fully cooperate. So far, the level of our industry is only growing, it has not yet reached that level of full-fledged cooperation. And so, Kyrgyz industrialists are 100% ready to cooperate with large Russian production associations.
In order to find conditions for an accelerated transition of the domestic industry to another level, Kyrgyzstan should send specialists from among active professionals to events. The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is being held for the 28th time, and each year the composition of international missions at this event becomes more and more presentable.
Thus, within the framework of the special session on industrial development "Advanced solutions for the EAEU industry", the Minister of Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the EEC Goar Barseghyan, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Dmitry Volvach, and major Russian industrialists will speak. The Kyrgyz Republic is not represented at this session. In turn, it is industrial production that the President of Kyrgyzstan has defined as the driver of economic development - industry belongs to the real sector of the economy.
- In order for cooperation, cooperation, and investment to flow, we need those who work in the field, namely industrialists, to participate, there needs to be more of them, naturally. There should be more than half of them in the delegation that will participate in order to directly negotiate on the site. The potential of specialists from the Kyrgyz Republic is quite high, and it can provide the industry with the necessary growth. In extreme cases, we can attract the same migrants who are currently working in Russia, providing the same salary. We have personnel, but perhaps not at the level that is needed. But therefore, when implementing a project, as a rule, we also include personnel training, internships, retraining, that is, this is not a problem, we can bring the level of personnel to the necessary level so that they can fully work at the new enterprise. There are those who have received a basic education, have skills, they just need to be trained a little purposefully, in detail, and they will be ready to perform their functions fully, - Emilbek Kudanaliev emphasized.
