Meeting of heads of trade of the EEC and Iran took place

A meeting of the Minister of Trade of the EEC Andrey Slepnev with the President of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture Samad Hassanzadeh took place at the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

 

The parties discussed issues of interaction between the business circles of the EAEU and Iran in the context of the implementation of the full-scale free trade agreement that entered into force on May 15, 2025, as previously reported by Business Eurasia.

Andrey Slepnev informed his Iranian colleagues about the preparation of a roadmap for the implementation of the agreement. The document will include measures to develop direct cooperation between the businesses of the EAEU and Iran and thematic seminars to explain the specifics of regulating trade between the parties.

— The new agreement secures unique conditions for the business circles of the EAEU and Iran to access each other's markets, creates convenient mechanisms and platforms for establishing interaction, solving urgent problems of trade and economic cooperation and rapprochement of understanding of the specifics of legislation and practices of its application in our countries, — the Minister noted.

During the meeting, representatives of Iranian business received an invitation to take part in the Eurasian Economic Forum, which will be held on June 26-27 in Minsk.

It is important that our entrepreneurs perceive each other not as competitors, but as partners in order to build up their potential and technologies and work together in a united market of 250 million people, — Andrey Slepnev emphasized.
