The CCI of the Kyrgyz Republic notes the Eastern Economic Forum as an important dialogue platform
The Eastern Economic Forum begins its work in Russia. In 2025, the EEF will be held in Vladivostok. Traditionally, Russian economists organize summits at this dialogue platform to raise issues of the prospective development of new regions of the planet. At the same time, the issue of interregional cooperation, the development of Russian programs in the Far East, and the South-Eastern region of Eurasia is traditional.
"Business Eurasia" regularly addresses the topic of Russian cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic, and the development of program goals and objectives of the EAEU at international forums. According to Nasirdin Shamshiev, analyst for investment and strategic development at the CCI of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Eastern Economic Forum is one of such platforms where Kyrgyz and Russian business circles have high potential for bilateral and multilateral partnership.
— To understand the importance of the Russian partnership for Kyrgyzstan, it is enough to evaluate the atmosphere that reigned at the VII Russian-Kyrgyz Economic Forum in August this year in Cholpon-Ata, — the economist says in a commentary to “Business Eurasia”. — The Ministry of Economy and the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund took part in organizing the forum. The same importance concerns the work of all our joint forums, and the Eastern Economic Forum is no exception. As for our Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we are always in touch with all Russian chambers of commerce and industry, in some cities we have representatives from Kyrgyzstan. Including in the Far East.
Nasirdin Shamshiev sees the interaction of cities and Russian regions and Kyrgyz business in the development of industrial cooperation…. Thus, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan is actively participating in the industrial cooperation project of the EAEU, in which five companies are involved.
— The Far East and other regions of Russia are interesting in all areas of economic development, both in terms of export and import, — the interlocutor continues. — In the Far East, there is proximity to Chinese suppliers, where it is profitable to supply fresh and processed vegetables and fruits, dried fruits, and textiles. In turn, it is profitable to import mechanical engineering products and seafood from China. At the Eastern Economic Forum, you can study investment options for our businessmen who live and work in Russia. We have many migrants from Kyrgyzstan who can open their own business in regions with a deficit of services or food.
In addition to Russian opportunities, the Kyrgyz economist notes the benefits of the Far Eastern business platform through attracting partners from the countries participating in the EEF-2025.
— Countries such as Mongolia, for example, are interesting to us. They have a large territory, but with a small population and poorly developed food infrastructure, and we are ready to consider options for cooperation with our Mongolian colleagues. It is convenient through Russian forums. The Far East is generally convenient to consider as an option for broad cooperation – this has already been noted, in terms of import and export. Kyrgyzstan has great offers – in terms of trade in cashmere and processed products. Merino sheep and karakul used to be bred in the Kirghiz SSR – now there is little of this, but everything can be replenished. Of course, there are difficulties – not without them. In the case of the Far East, this is logistics, because Kyrgyzstan has no direct railway connection with this region, and transportation by road is very expensive. But I am sure that all this can be resolved, – concluded Nasirdin Shaimshiev.
